MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, Sept. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Financial services firm Edward Jones has announced that Gary Reamey, leader of its operations in Canada since 1994, will step down at the end of the year. He will continue as a senior partner with the firm and a member of the firm's senior management team until the end of 2012 when he retires after a 35-year career.
David Lane, 47, a partner with the firm since 1998, will assume leadership in Canada. Lane will also join the firm's senior management team. Lane relocated to Canada in 2010 with responsibility for financial advisor recruiting, training and branch development.
"We owe Gary tremendous gratitude for his 18 years of leadership and the hard work he has invested into our international expansion," said Jim Weddle, Edward Jones managing partner. "At the same time, David brings a wealth of experience to his new position and I'm confident he will continue our success in bringing exceptional service to even more clients in Canada."
After a successful career as a financial advisor in the US, Reamey, 56, moved to St. Louis in 1989 and was responsible for the US fixed income and equity trading areas.
