Join us in this fight and grab a Sweet Treat!
PURCHASE, N.Y., April 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Everyone's a winner when they join the fight with The Stop & Shop Supermarket Company LLC throughout Connecticut, New York and New Jersey for a special fundraising day on Saturday, April 28, 2012 to benefit children's cancer research.
Several brands of single-serve ice cream cups, shakes and smoothies, including those by Haagen-Dazs® brand, EDY'S® SLOW CHURNED® low fat ice cream, and SKINNY COW® low fat ice cream are participating in Stop & Shop's Triple Winner® fundraiser to benefit the Department of Pediatrics at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). Customers who make a $1 contribution* will receive a free EDY'S or Haagen-Dazs single serve cup. When customers make a $3 contribution they will also receive a limited edition Triple Winner keepsake.
The Stop & Shop New York Metro division will donate 100% of the proceeds raised during this event to MSKCC. In addition, Nestle EDY's Ice Cream Company will donate $.05 for every single-serve cup, shake or smoothie sold between April 13 and June 7, 2012 with no limitation on the amount donated during this timeframe.
"Since 2006, Nestle Edy's Ice Cream Company has been dedicated to helping raise money for children's cancer research with the help of caring people through the partnership with Stop & Shop. We raised $50,000 in the NY Metro Division last year, and we hope to raise even more this year with the community's support. We urge everyone to come in to their local Stop & Shop store on April 28 and join us in the fight against childhood cancer by donating through Triple Winner," said Roger Weisbeck for Nestle EDY's Ice Cream Company.
"We are very appreciative of the support we receive from Stop & Shop and their long-time partner, Nestle Edy's Ice Cream Company. Funding for pediatric cancer research is very limited, and these donations are essential to our ability to make new discoveries and advance therapies for children with cancer," said Dr. Paul A. Meyers, Vice Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics at Memorial Sloan-Kettering.
