Stop & Shop New England Division will donate 100% of the proceeds raised to the Stop & Shop Family Pediatric Brain Tumor Clinic at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In addition, EDY'S ice cream brand will donate $.05 for every single-serve cup, shake or smoothie sold between April 13 and June 7, 2012, with no limitation on the amount donated during this timeframe.
"Since 2006, Nestle Edy's Ice Cream Company has been dedicated to helping raise money for children's cancer research with the help of caring people through the partnership with Stop & Shop. We raised $186,000 last year, and we hope to raise even more this year with the community's help. We urge everyone to come in to their local Stop & Shop store on April 28 and join us in the fight against childhood cancer by donating through Triple Winner," said Roger Weisbeck for Nestle EDY's Ice Cream Company.
"We are so appreciative of the funding and support from Nestle Edy's Ice Cream Company and Stop & Shop New England through their Triple Winner program. With this additional funding, we are able to further advance our pediatric brain tumor research to make new discoveries and develop better treatment options for our patients," said Mark Kieran, MD, PhD, director of the pediatric brain tumor program at Dana-Farber.
Now in its 22nd year, the Triple Winner program helps support pediatric cancer care and research, including the Stop & Shop Family Pediatric Brain Tumor Clinic at Dana-Farber Cancer. Customers who give a $1 contribution* at Stop & Shop registers receive a Triple Winner scratch ticket and receive free store products, coupons, gift cards or cash prizes up to $10,000.
