The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission seeks to improve efficiency, reduce cost.

RESTON, Va., March 2, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Global Computer Enterprises (GCE) announced today that the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has awarded GCE a prime contract to provide a comprehensive Federal financial management service. The five-year contract, which has a base period of twenty months with four one-year options, is worth up to $10 million if all options are exercised.

The EEOC is the Federal government agency responsible for enforcing the nation's anti-discrimination laws in the workplace. The EEOC is the one of the first financial systems award since the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) put financial system modernization projects on hold in June 2010.  Additionally, in recent months, OMB has instituted a "cloud-first" policy for Federal agencies in an effort to modernize Federal IT systems and reduce costs.  This award is the most recent example of a Federal agency moving an enterprise system to a commercial "Cloud" environment to control costs in a tight budget environment.

"Cloud services are expanding beyond email and hosting into the back office of Federal agencies," said Ray Muslimani, GCE President and CEO.  "EEOC's decision to move to GCE's Cloud environment is an important step for the Commission and for the Federal government toward adopting enterprise-grade Cloud services."

In the Cloud service model, GCE will provide all necessary hardware, software and communications for hosting; maintain the application with future releases; provide helpdesk and application security services, provide functional and technical support; and operate and maintain back-end regulatory reporting and report distribution software.  Additionally, GCE will perform full-service accounting operations and transaction processing for the Commission, including invoice processing and travel management.

"GCE will be providing EEOC with a core Federal financial service that not only complies with Federal accounting and systems standards and provides the maximum support to the EEOC's mission, but also significantly improves the agency's financial management performance and cost controls," said David Winslow, GCE Senior Vice President. "These are significant success factors for Federal agencies today."
