EF Hutton Grants College Scholarships for Speech & Debate
EF Hutton Awards Recognize Excellence in Communication
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio, Aug. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- EF Hutton Financial, a unit of EF Hutton America (OTC: HUTN) has awarded college scholarships totaling $100,000 to 20 students who excel in communication arts. The awards were made to students who competed in the 2017 National Speech & Debate Tournament. EF Hutton is proud to be national sponsor of the National Speech and Debate Association.
4,000 high school students from across the country competed in the National Speech and Debate Tournament, the largest such academic competition in the world. From more than 150,000 student members from all 50 states, only 3% qualify to compete at Nationals. Less than 1% of the National Tournament competitors can call themselves a national champion. All of the 20 main event national champions earn a scholarship from EF Hutton.
This year EF Hutton Merit Scholarships were awarded to recipients from 9 states: California, Florida, Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, and South Carolina.
