Effective Food Aid: 15,000 Meals Ready to Eat for West Africa

Saahtain Foods, with logistics and distribution provided by Dubai Charity Association, has sent 15,000 Meals Ready to Eat (MREs) to West Africa on behalf of one of its leading clients. The meals are part of a broader Food Aid program for Africa from UAE. Commenting on the collaboration Mr Ahmed Mohammed Mesmar, Secretary General of Dubai Charity said: "We are thankful to Saahtain Foods for choosing Dubai Charity to distribute Tayyib Ready to Eat Meals, which are a very effective way to provide Halal food aid."

The current crisis has affected 28 million people in West Africa which has just a few hundred doctors. In addition, the United Nation's World Food Program notes that food prices have already risen by 24 percent across the board so far this year in the three worst-afflicted countries.

"It's not only a health and food crisis, it is a poverty crisis. Getting food nutrition to the needy at this time in an affordable and effective way is very important for sustainable food aid. We are glad that our MREs do exactly that," said Adeel Khan, CEO of Saahtain Foods.
