MERRILLVILLE, Ind., Feb. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The collection of nine White Lodging managed properties at Chicago's Midway Hotel Center has a veteran professional leading the sales effort. Tom Egan was recently appointed the Area Director of Sales and Marketing and will be responsible for the Courtyard by Marriott, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Marriott, Residence Inn by Marriott, Sleep Inn, and the TGI Friday's restaurant. There are a total of 1,324 rooms between the nine properties.
Egan comes to White Lodging after working for Marriott International for the past 11 years. "I am thrilled to have Tom join our team of sales professionals at White Lodging after his very successful career with Marriott," said Region 7 Regional Vice President John Randall. "With nine hotels and five different brands, he will be leading a very complex area."
Egan's most recent position was Area Sales Leader in Chicago where he was responsible for all of the Marriott properties in downtown Chicago. While in this position, he capably developed and launched the transformational sales team that was a component of the company's global sales transition.
A graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, Egan first worked for Marriott at the Griffin Gate Resort as Restaurant Manager and then as Sales Manager. He came to Chicago in 2002 where he worked in sales positions at the Chicago Marriott Downtown and the Courtyard by Marriott Chicago Downtown. While employed by Marriott International, Egan received numerous awards including the Leadership Excellence Award in 2010.
In discussing his new position, Eagan shared that he was excited about the opportunity to represent the variety of brands in the Hotel Center and looks forward to growing awareness of the Midway area.
