ARLINGTON, Va., May 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- eGlobalTech announced today that it has launched an advisory service offering to assist cloud service providers who are looking to become authorized through the Federal Risk Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP). FedRAMP is a government-wide program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services.

As part of eGlobalTech's FedRAMP Advisory Services offering, cloud service providers can request a "Readiness Assessment" that will help determine if a provider is prepared for the FedRAMP authorization process. This comprehensive assessment aligns to the Program's specific requirements and will facilitate a timely, cost effective, and successful realization of a FedRAMP authorization. FedRAMP was enacted in June 2011 and is mandatory for Federal Agency cloud deployments and service models at the low and moderate risk impact levels in accordance with the Federal Information Processing Standard 199. Federal Agencies have until June 2014 to ensure that their cloud service providers meet FedRAMP requirements. "FedRAMP requires all Cloud Service Providers applying to FedRAMP to undergo security control testing, including penetration testing," says Laura Taylor, eGlobalTech FedRAMP Program Manager.
