EIFS Industry Members Association Launches Free Project Gallery as Energy Codes Tighten

Searchable database of more than 200 North American projects gives architects and specifiers real-world evidence for continuous-insulation wall assemblies.

FALLS CHURCH, Va., Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- As energy codes across North America push continuous insulation from option to requirement, the EIFS Industry Members Association (EIMA) has launched a free, searchable database of more than 200 completed projects that specifiers can use to evaluate exterior insulation and finish systems against the assemblies they're currently detailing.

The EIFS Project Gallery is available at no cost and requires no registration. It documents projects across 38 states and provinces, spanning more than a dozen building types and completion years from 2018 to the present.

The timing reflects a shift in how exterior walls get designed. Assemblies built with legacy cladding materials must now add a separate continuous-insulation layer to meet the latest International Energy Conservation Code, introducing new detailing requirements, additional trades, and added cost. EIFS have included continuous insulation as an integral component since the system was introduced — meaning the code change that complicates other assemblies leave EIFS unaffected.

Visitors can search by building type, EIFS manufacturer, country, state or province, geographic proximity, applicator, construction type, construction method, year completed, and architect. Filters also isolate projects with published case studies and those recognized through the EIFS Excellence Awards.

Featured work spans healthcare, hospitality, institutional, multifamily, affordable housing, retail, office, and single-family residential construction — from high-rise developments and major medical facilities to hotels, museums, schools, and custom homes – and includes projects from EIMA member manufacturers Adex Systems, Dryvit, Master Wall, Sika, and Sto Corp.

The gallery also illustrates the material range architects can achieve with EIFS, which is available in an unlimited color palette and a wide variety of textures, and can replicate the appearance of brick, stone, stucco, wood, and metal at a fraction of the weight. That low weight makes the system as viable for retrofit and recladding work as for new construction — a growing consideration as owners pursue envelope upgrades on aging building stock.
