- Quality Assurance course improves efficiency and data collection.
PITTSBURGH, Dec. 20, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Elcometer Instruments and SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings are pleased to announce the availability of "Protective Coatings Paperless QA and Digital Data Collection," a new training course that focuses on instrument use and inspection reporting.
The course, developed by Elcometer and administered by SSPC, focuses on coupling digital instrumentation with paperless inspection reporting. This course emphasizes the benefits of incorporating industry standards while maximizing the instruments' capabilities and potential to perform the most common daily inspection tasks (monitoring ambient conditions, surface profiles, and film thickness). It also focuses on the importance of proper inspection reporting and the successful integration of a paperless quality assurance inspection program to significantly reduce the man-hours incurred in the inspection process and the introduction of human error.
According to Joe Walker, Vice President, Elcometer, "Elcometer continually works to develop new technology, processes and standards into our products and services for the protective coatings industry. Our customers insist that we provide them the tools so that they can stay ahead of the curve. Paperless QA is just another chance for us to improve coatings inspection and help coatings professionals to be more efficient and productive."
Bill Shoup, Executive Director of SSPC, agreed. "This new course is the first of its kind for this industry. It's important for SSPC and its members to keep pace with the changing landscape of coatings inspection. We're thrilled to partner with Elcometer on this project."
The initial offering of the course will be at the upcoming SSPC 2011 show in Las Vegas, January 31- February 3, 2011. The course will be offered as post-show training on February 4-5 at the Mandalay Bay Resort. Students interested in taking the course should contact SSPC at 1.877.281.SSPC (7772) or visit www.SSPC.org to register. The deadline to register is January 7, 2011.
