Aimee Gabel joins as Chief Product and Innovation Officer and Divya Chopra as Chief Communications Officer
WASHINGTON, Oct. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Electronic Transactions Association (ETA), the world's leading advocacy and trade association for the payments industry, today announced two additions to its executive leadership team: Aimee Gabel as Chief Product and Innovation Officer and Divya Chopra as Chief Communications Officer.
The appointments strengthen ETA's leadership in two areas central to its mission: developing products and programs that deliver greater value to members and advancing communications that support ETA's advocacy and elevate the payments industry's impact.
As Chief Product and Innovation Officer, Gabel will lead the strategy and development of ETA's products, programs, events and educational offerings, working across the association to identify new opportunities to serve members and the broader payments industry.
Gabel brings extensive experience in association leadership, product development, education and member engagement. She joins ETA from the U.S. Travel Association, where she served as Senior Vice President of Events and Education and led the strategy and transformation of the association's signature programs and experiences. Previously, as Chief Experience Officer at Solar Energy Trade Shows, she helped grow RE+ into North America's largest clean energy event while expending its education, engagement, and product portfolio.
Gabel holds a master's degree in organization development from American University, a bachelor's degree in history and Asian studies from Colorado College, and a certificate in strategy execution for public leadership from the Harvard Kennedy School.
As Chief Communications Officer, Chopra will lead ETA's communications strategy, with a particular focus on strengthening policy communications and advocacy. Working closely with ETA's Government Relations team, she will help communicate the association's policy priorities and the payments industry's contributions to businesses, consumers and the broader economy. She will also lead ETA's Small Business Advocacy Capability Initiative.
Chopra brings extensive experience in strategic marketing, brand development, and global engagement. She spent more than 12 years at Meta, where her leadership roles included Director of Global Small Business Integrated Marketing and Global Head of Small Business Economic Impact Marketing. Most recently, she has advised businesses and nonprofits on brand positioning, messaging, and communications.
Chopra holds an M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications from Northwestern University and a B.A. in Political Science and Spanish from Colgate University.
"Aimee and Divya bring exceptional experience in two areas that are increasingly important to ETA and our members," said Jodie Kelley, CEO of ETA. "Aimee brings a proven ability to build and transform products, programs, and experiences around the needs of an industry. Divya brings deep experience in strategic communications and in demonstrating the economic impact of businesses and industries. Together, they strengthen our ability to serve our members, advance our policy priorities, and tell the story of an industry that is fundamental to commerce."
"ETA sits at the center of one of the world's most dynamic and innovative industries" said Gabel. "There is a tremendous opportunity to build on ETA's strong foundation, develop new products and experiences, and find new ways to create value for members. I'm excited to work with the team and with ETA's members to do that."
"Payments touch virtually every business and consumer, yet the industry's broader economic impact isn't always well understood," said Chopra. "I'm excited to join ETA and help strengthen how we communicate that impact, advance our advocacy priorities and tell the industry's story."
