3D mammography has been shown to increase the detection of invasive breast cancer by 41 percent while reducing unnecessary call backs for additional testing. The system works by taking multiple images during the exam, which are then compiled into a reconstruction of the breast providing an enhanced view. At the new center, 3D mammography is available for both screening and diagnostic exams. The images are read by board-certified, fellowship-trained radiologists who specialize in women's imaging.
