Elster Names Mark Munday Chief Technology Officer and Appoints Edward Myszka Executive Vice President, Electricity North America

ESSEN, Germany and RALEIGH, N.C., Jan. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Elster (NYSE: ELT) announced today that, effective immediately, the company has named Mark Munday chief technology officer (CTO) and appointed Edward Myszka as executive vice president, electricity North America.

Munday joined Elster in 1981 and has led the North American electricity business for the past 11 years. He has been awarded more than 31 U.S. patents related to Smart Grid and metering technology. He was named technology executive of the year by the North Carolina Technology Association in 2010 and was a Platts Global Energy Awards finalist for Energy CEO of the Year in 2006.

In the newly created position of CTO, Munday will be responsible for driving research and development, and technology innovation efforts across the company.  He will take a primary role in assessing outside technology opportunities.

Myszka joins Elster with more than 28 years of advanced technology and business experience. He spent the past six years as a member of the senior executive team at Comverge, Inc., a demand response Smart Grid company. Prior to Comverge, he spent more than 17 years with Motorola, Inc., holding positions of increasing responsibility, most recently as head of its OEM energy systems group.
