EMILY COMPAGNO NAMED CO-HOST OF FOX NEWS CHANNEL'S THE FIVE

NEW YORK, Aug. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- FOX News Channel's (FNC) The Five, the number one program in all of cable, has named Emily Compagno a full-time co-host, announced Suzanne Scott, CEO of FOX News Media. Compagno will officially join the program beginning September 8^th alongside Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino, Jesse Watters, as well as the rotating liberal seat featuring Harold Ford Jr. and Jessica Tarlov. She will relinquish her current role on Outnumbered (12-1 PM/ET) and a rotating FOX News personality will fill that seat until a permanent co-host is named.

The Five, which celebrated its 15-year anniversary in July 2026, has ruled its timeslot for more than a decade and remains one of the most dominant programs in all of television. During the second quarter of 2026, the program averaged 3.6 million viewers and 322,000 in the 25-54 demo, marking its 19th consecutive quarter as the highest-rated show in cable news. The Five also draws more Democratic viewers than CNN and MS NOW and ranks as the number one program across all of cable among Independents. Commanding more than 64% of the cable news audience in its time slot, the program routinely rivals and outpaces broadcast staples including Law & Order: SVU (3.7M), 9-1-1: Nashville (3.4M), Happy's Place (3.1M) and Abbott Elementary (2.6M).

Compagno joined FOX News as a contributor in 2018 and was named co-host of Outnumbered in 2021. The daily ensemble program, known for its signature debates among four women and "one lucky guy" ranks number one in its time slot and routinely outpaces several daytime offerings on the broadcast networks. She is also a bestselling author. Her inaugural title, Under His Wings, published by FOX News Books, debuted at number one on Amazon and the New York Times bestseller list in its first week. 

Prior to joining the network, Compagno practiced law in criminal defense and civil litigation and later served as a federal managing attorney and Acting Director at the Social Security Administration. She also served as a Senior Judge Judicial Extern for the late Hon. John T. Noonan at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and held legal positions in South Africa and Brazil. Compagno was also captain of the NFL's Oakland Raiders cheerleading squad and was selected as an NFL Ambassador, representing the league internationally and visiting U.S. troops in Iraq and Kuwait on a USO tour. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Washington and a J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law.
