EMM Wealth Completes 4th Annual Immersive Financial Experience for High School Students in New York City

NEW YORK, Sept. 26, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- EMM Wealth, a multi-family office in New York City, recently completed its fourth annual session of EMM University, a week-long immersive experience for high school juniors and seniors. Originally created by EMM Co-CEO Lloyd Abramowitz to educate his own teenage boys, it is held at the EMM offices in Manhattan in August of every year. EMM-U provides a professional introduction to the field of finance and a look at how wealth management firms like EMM operate. "As we bid farewell to another summer session of EMM-U, we can proudly say that we'll be sending this year's 'graduates' back to high school a bit more financially savvy," said Abramowitz.

Open to children and grandchildren of the firm's clients, several spots are also reserved for students from the Opportunity Network, an organization that helps underprivileged high school students prepare for college and careers. During the interactive program, students learn about personal finances, investment management, and the overall financial markets. Students also learn the basic philosophy and principles of investing, risk management and the importance of client relationships. The sessions are led by EMM's senior partners, associates, and a few guest experts, on such topics as cybersecurity, personal finance and marketing. There is also a "college roundtable" session, where some of the firm's younger associates and interns share their advice for a successful college experience. Participants have had the opportunity to visit a live trading floor, sit in on investment manager conference calls and tour the New York Stock Exchange.
