Emory Law to Make Master of Laws (LLM) Degree Available in Online Format Beginning in Spring 2018

ATLANTA, July 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Emory University School of Law is now offering its prestigious Master of Laws (LLM) program for practicing lawyers in an online course of study, beginning in spring semester 2018. Students can choose from a pair of concentrations: Business Law and Regulation; and Health Care Law, Policy, and Regulation. The deadline to apply is November 15, 2017, for spring semester matriculation.

Designed for practicing lawyers seeking specialized expertise in business law or health law, the program covers important legal concepts in regulation and compliance, organizational formation, data management, and cybersecurity. Individuals who have earned a juris doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school may apply to the 24-credit-hour program, which takes 15 months to complete and requires 3 short, on-campus residencies.

The Business Law and Regulation concentration will fortify a lawyer's proficiency in business law doctrine and practice by offering advanced training in the formation, financing and management of business corporations; risk management and regulation of business and financial activity; data management and protection; and the fundamentals of deal-making.

The Health Care Law, Policy, and Regulation concentration provides lawyers with a multi-layered perspective on laws applicable to the regulation of health care institutions and providers; structure, financing and liabilities of health care institutions and providers; powers and duties to protect the population; data management, protection and compliance; and ethical issues and legal challenges in health care.
