Company secures nearly $7 million to expand its multi-modal messaging platform and launch new generative AI features

This investment marks a major milestone in the company's mission to transform business communication by delivering authentic, face-to-face interactions asynchronously.

Emovid was developed in part as a response to widespread frustrations with standard video conferencing and inefficient and long e-mails. Research shows that unfruitful meetings cost the U.S. business world as much as $224 billion per year, and the average knowledge worker still spends 2 to 3 hours a day in their e-mail. At the same time, many businesses are contending with a growing number of deepfaked or AI-generated video and text communications from malicious sources.

The Emovid platform allows for communication via unscripted 2-5 minute videos instead of long pre-scheduled meetings or lengthy e-mails. The seed round was led by o-kaisha Investments, the investment arm of the Oki Family Office (Scott Oki led the first billion dollars worth of sales for Microsoft).
