County Executive Don Cunningham and PUC Commissioner Wayne Gardner to Open Energypath 2011
LOWER MACUNGIE, Pa., June 21, 2011, /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Lehigh County Executive Don Cunningham and Pennsylvania Public Utility Commissioner Wayne Gardner were named as opening speakers for Energypath 2011, which takes place June 29 and 30 in Center Valley at DeSales University.
Lehigh County Executive Don Cunningham and Pennsylvania Public Utility Commissioner Wayne Gardner will speak during the Energypath 2011 Conference Opening Session on June 29. Don Cunningham is the County Executive of Lehigh County, located in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania's 3rd largest metropolitan area. Cunningham's stewardship has produced an upgraded Moody's bond rating of double A-2 for Lehigh County. Under Cunningham, Lehigh County has become a leader in farmland and open space preservation. Cunningham is best known as the former mayor of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he led the economic renaissance of Bethlehem after the closing of Bethlehem Steel Corporation.
Commission Gardner was unanimously confirmed by the Pennsylvania Senate on June 30, 2008 to serve a five-year term on the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. Since joining the PUC, Commissioner Gardner has focused on reliability, price competitiveness, security of supply and customer service for the consumers and utilities of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Commissioner Gardner serves on the Board of Directors for the Environmental Quality Board, the Mid-Atlantic Conference of Regulatory Commissioners, the Electricity Committee of the Nation Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, as well as the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (Natural) Gas Pipeline Safety Standards Committee.
