TORONTO, June 29, 2015 /CNW/ - A penalty hearing has been scheduled before a Hearing Panel of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) in the matter of Bryan Andrew Vickers.

The Hearing Panel will consider the penalty to be imposed as a result of an agreed statement of facts entered into between Mr. Vickers and IIROC staff, in which Mr. Vickers admits that he acted contrary to IIROC Rule 38.4. Mr. Vickers admits that he failed to adequately supervise a registered representative who recommended certain inverse exchange-traded funds to his clients.

The penalty hearing is open to the public, unless the Hearing Panel orders otherwise. The decision of the Hearing Panel will be made available at www.iiroc.ca.

IIROC formally initiated the investigation into Mr. Vickers' conduct in November 2012. The violations occurred while he was a Branch Manager with the London, Ontario branch of RBC Dominion Securities, an IIROC-regulated firm. Mr. Vickers is currently a Registered Representative with that same branch.
