Entenmann's® And The Salvation Army Tackle National Donut Day In New York With Gridiron Great Victor Cruz

WHAT:   Super Bowl Champion, New Jersey native and Entenmann's celebrity ambassador, Victor Cruz will unveil a one-of-a-kind, larger than life Entenmann's Crumb Top Donut in commemoration of National Donut Day 2013.   Entenmann's, a Division of Bimbo Bakeries USA and maker of over 100 sweet baked goods and The Salvation Army celebrate the sweet annual holiday through their continued partnership for a third consecutive year.

To celebrate the historical milestone, Entenmann's will present a donation check for $30,000 to The Salvation Army.  Entenmann's will give out free donuts and The Salvation Army's Canteen (mobile kitchen) will provide free coffee to all consumers.  The New York event will feature a larger than life 6-foot donut box for photos, a prize wheel for consumers to win free giveaways and more. 

The National Donut Day holiday, held annually on the first Friday of June, was established by The Salvation Army in 1938 in Chicago to honor the "Donut Lassies" who served these treats to soldiers during World War I and to help raise needed funds during the Great Depression.  This significant occasion established the donut as a long-standing symbol of the services The Salvation Army continues to provide.
