Enterprise Center Announces Fall Workshops
Business basics plus innovative sessions mark upcoming lineup
SALEM, Mass., Sept. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Enterprise Center at Salem State University has announced 24 new programs for September through December. The Center has become well known for both its skills-based approach to business basics—how-to workshops on different aspects, sales, marketing, finance, human resources, etc.—and for its ability to introduce innovative programs that are often indicators of emerging business trends. The fall line-up reflects both.
The season kicks off on Thursday, September 15th, with Your Business Plans Soup to Nuts and powers through the autumn months with the likes of Getting Your News in the Paper, Cash Flow Your Way to Break Even, and Search Engine Optimization: How to Pop to the Top. There are programs specifically for nonprofits, and interactive sessions like Laughing Matters on stress reduction. Those seeking funding (or companies in which to invest) will want to attend both 128 Venture North breakfasts, Raising Money from Friends & Family on September 22nd and Deal Makers/Deal Breakers on December 2nd.
Brand new this fall is the "Business of…." series. Inspired by the success of last February's information session on the business of farming, these workshops focus on different fields, especially emerging industries. Beginning in October, the Enterprise Center will explore advanced manufacturing, the burgeoning energy industry, and business aspects of the arts, the latter in collaboration with Montserrat College of Art.
Another new twist is this year's Million Dollar Women Symposium, scheduled for November 9th. This popular event, now in its seventh year, switches to the nonprofit world for the first time, featuring women who lead multi-million dollar nonprofit organizations. This event is sponsored by Beverly Cooperative Bank.
"We're especially excited about this fall's programming," said Enterprise Center CEO, Christine Sullivan. "One look at the schedule shows how broad a spectrum of topics we're covering. What's just as important, though perhaps not immediately apparent, is that this lineup will appeal to experienced business people and established companies as well as those just starting out."
