Enterprise-class Plus Outdoor Wireless LAN Market Accelerated 10 Percent in First Quarter 2016, According to Dell'Oro Group

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., June 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- According to a recently published report from Dell'Oro Group, the trusted source for market information about the telecommunications, networks, and data center IT industries, the Enterprise-class plus Outdoor Wireless LAN (WLAN) market accelerated 10 percent in the first quarter 2016, the fastest growth since the third quarter 2014, while smaller vendors, such as Ruckus Wireless and Ubiquiti Networks, gained share. Dell'Oro Group predicts growth will accelerate in the second half of 2016 as the upgrade to newer 802.11ac Wave 2 systems should stimulate spending.

"The Enterprise plus Outdoor WLAN market staged a comeback with 10 percent year-over-year revenue growth as E-Rate entered its first full year of funding and some new vendors began their 802.11ac Wave 2 shipments," said Chris DePuy, Vice President at Dell'Oro Group. "Additionally, smaller vendors, which represent just over one third of Enterprise plus Outdoor WLAN market revenues, grew faster in the first quarter 2016 than larger vendors, in part due to their exposure to small business customers," DePuy continued.

The report also reveals the revenue share for the top Enterprise-class WLAN vendors, including Aruba Networks, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise company, Cisco Systems, and Ruckus Wireless.

Conjointly, the report covers market share in China for top vendors and also presents analysis for the installed base of 802.11ac, 802.11n, and 802.11a/g in the enterprise.
