RIDGECREST, Calif., Sept. 24, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- In an effort to increase the number of entrepreneurs and small businesses competing for federal and state contracts, a free seminar this week produced by RACVB brings top state and federal agencies to provide local assistance on how to do business with their organizations.

Peter Estrada of the U.S. Small Business Administration will provide an introduction of how to sell to United States government agencies. This includes background on how small businesses can profit and thrive with government contracts, while Cameron Langner of the Monterey Bay Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAC) will cover contracting and sub-contracting. Langner's presentation includes how to position you as a sub-contractor or a prime contractor and how to look for work through the Federal Business Opportunity online portal. Finally, Jessica Klemencic of CALTRANS District 9's office will review the process of Transportation Small Business Contracts, and how to look ahead schedules for CALTRANS transportation contracts.
These workshops will help prepare businesses for the upcoming 2018 California Contracting/Acquisition/Procurement (CCAP) Expo and NAWCWD Industry Days on November 7-8, 2018. The CCAP Expo provides a two-day deep dive into the contracting process, offering opportunities to ask questions and personally interact with a number of regional, state and federal agencies.
