Entrust President and CEO Bill Conner to Receive Distinguished Alumnus of the Year Award at National Youth Science Camp 50th Anniversary Celebration

DALLAS, July 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Bill Conner,  president and CEO of Entrust, Inc., a global leader in securing digital identities and information, will be this year's keynote speaker at the National Youth Science Camp (NYSC) luncheon today at the Russell Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C.

Conner will discuss today's rapidly evolving cyber ecosystem — from a dramatic rise in the number mobile devices to serious security concerns stemming from state-sponsors attacks, as well as terrorists and activist groups.

During the event, Conner will receive the prestigious NYSC Alumnus of the Year award, which is given to alumni who support NYSC with their efforts, achieve recognition in their chosen fields and helps further science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education.

The 50th annual luncheon is hosted by West Virginia Sen. Jay Rockefeller in honor of the 2013 delegates to the National Youth Science Camp.

Founded in 1963, the NYSC is a summer honors program for young scientists from around the country who recently graduated from high school. The camp is a four-week program that consists of lectures by scientists, hands-on studies and voluntary opportunities to participate in an outdoor adventure program.

Conner, a 1977 Arkansas delegate to NYSC, is among the most experienced security, data and infrastructure executives worldwide. Following his NYSC experience, Conner went on to graduate from Princeton University with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He also earned a master's degree in business administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Following graduation, Conner lead a number of key divisions of AT&T, later served as Nortel Networks' first chief marketing officer and also held various senior executive positions at Nortel Networks, including president of Nortel Enterprise Networks and e-Business Solutions.
