Third Technology Release of 2026 Lays the Interface Foundation for an AI-First Advisor Experience

BERWYN, Pa., Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Envestnet, the leading Adaptive WealthTech company, today announced a new set of updates to its Wealth Management Platform, part of Envestnet's third technology release of 2026 (R3 2026). The updates give advisors a redesigned interface – including an interactive dashboard experience, a new self-service configuration portal for Unified Managed Portfolios (UMPs), and an expanded library of widgets. This will build the interface foundation needed to deliver AI-powered capabilities across the platform.

The latest updates respond to a persistent industry problem in wealth management today. Cerulli research finds that out of a typical 40-hour week, advisors spend roughly nine hours on administrative tasks and just three hours prospecting for new clients. The easier and more streamlined you can make those tasks, the more time advisors can spend on deepening their client relationships or growing their accounts.

Interactive Dashboard

R3 introduces an Interactive Dashboard Experience that is designed to let advisors optimize their workflow with a customizable desktop, giving users the ability to create, configure, and control widgets for a personalized view of their business. Features include:

• New Navigation UI: A new side-panel navigation will follow the same rollout schedule as the Interactive Dashboard.
  
  
• Early Opt-In: Both the Interactive Dashboard and the new navigation experience will be available for early opt-in by larger clients beginning in mid-September.

UMP Configuration Portal

The Unified Managed Portfolio (UMP) configuration portal is now live, giving administrators self-service tools to better build and manage account templates.

• Admin Template Creation: The UMP configuration portal is now live for admin template creation, with sponsor self-service capabilities planned for the R4 release later this year.
  
  
• Default Templates: Users who do not need a custom template will automatically receive a new Envestnet default template.

Expanding the Widget Library

Envestnet continues to grow its library of curated dashboard content that include new options along with existing UMP and the most-used Wealth Data Platform (WDP) widgets – giving advisors a broader, more relevant set of tools to personalize their view.

New AI Assistant & KPI Widgets for Insights Dashboards

The R3 release introduces an AI assistant and a new suite of key performance indicator (KPI) widgets for Envestnet's Insights dashboards. This will enable advisors to open the AI assistant from any Insights dashboard and ask questions in plain language about what they're seeing: what shifted across metrics and why, where growth opportunities or outliers sit, and how to summarize findings for a client conversation. Rather than manually filtering data to isolate a change, an advisor asks about it.

• Enhanced AI Explainability in Insights: Selecting the AI icon within a dashboard opens a new AI Assistant in a side panel, where advisors can ask questions about dashboard results, growth opportunities, top-performing segments, and other trends. Advisors can use the enhancement to:
  • Understand performance changes by identifying what shifted across metrics and the factors driving those changes.
  • Explore opportunities faster by asking questions about trends, growth areas, and outliers without manually filtering and analyzing data.
  • Support client conversations with clear summaries that communicate key findings and trends.
    
    
• New KPI Widgets for Insights Dashboards: Envestnet is expanding the Universal Widget Library on its platform to include a new suite of KPI widgets built for Insights-powered dashboards. The widgets are designed to give advisors high-level summaries of critical business metrics, allowing them to track growth and opportunities without navigating through multiple reports. The new KPI widgets encompass:
  • Customer Opportunities: Identifying and tracking potential new business leads and expansion opportunities.
  • Net Flows: Tracking the movement of capital into and out of accounts over a specified period.
  • Proposal Pipeline: Monitoring the status and value of active proposals currently in progress.
  • Total Accounts: Providing a quick count of all active accounts managed within the platform.
  • Total Assets: Offering a view of aggregate assets across a practice, drawn from the data the firm provides Envestnet platform assets, and also off-platform holdings where a firm supplies them.

By placing the most important metrics front and center, the widgets can help advisors quickly assess progress against business goals. For example, advisors can harness the Net Flows widget to help identify trends in client contributions, or the Proposal Pipeline widget to prioritize follow-ups on high-value prospects.
