Environmental Tectonics Corporation's Simulation Division To Host 2nd Annual ADMS Training Day for First Responders in Recognition of National Preparedness Month
SOUTHAMPTON, Pa., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Environmental Tectonics Corporation's (OTC Bulletin Board: ETCC) ("ETC" or the "Company") Simulation Division, located in Orlando, FL, today announced they will host the second annual free day of emergency management training to local first responders on the Advanced Disaster Management Simulator (ADMS). In recognition and support of National Preparedness Month, ETC Simulation plans to give back to the community and honor America's progress in preparing for and mitigating potential disasters.
On Wednesday, October 6, 2010, from 9am - 2pm, ETC Simulation will offer a day of training with ADMS utilizing their virtual reality simulation theater. This training session will allow first responders the opportunity to experience high end simulation as a training tool.
This year's simulation exercise, developed in conjunction with the Orlando Police Department's Emergency Response Team (ERT), is designed to meet their specific training requirements. Captain Metzger, North Patrol Division and Emergency Response Team Captain of the Orlando Police Department stated, "ETC's simulator allows the frontline supervisors and commanders with the Orlando Police Department ERT to become totally immersed in the training exercise. The detailed graphics, 180 degree screen, and realistic scenarios provide ERT's leaders with an opportunity to hone their skills in the most realistic environment available."
ADMS is a virtual reality simulation training stage that provides a true-to-life experience for incident commanders, first responders, and incident command teams to train, assess and practice incident command and vehicle operation skills. ADMS simulates emergencies, disasters and incidents for which live training is not feasible due to safety, environmental impact or safety reasons. Since ADMS training is accomplished in the classroom without requiring additional assets (e.g., fire and emergency vehicles, etc.), the training extends the useful life of resource equipment and can be done at a fraction of the cost of live training.
ADMS is unique due to its high-end simulation of incidents, personnel and resources. Physics based engines, embedded artificial intelligence, photorealistic visualizations, and ambient sounds combine to offer the most realistic training simulation available. ADMS offers a proven methodology to provide results-based and cost-effective training. First introduced in 1994, ADMS has trained emergency responders worldwide, on local, regional and national levels.
ETC Simulation would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the first responders who continue to make the world a safer place to live. We truly value and honor your continued commitment, sacrifice and service.
