EPA Recognizes USAA Real Estate Company With 2014 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year

SAN ANTONIO, April 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recognized USAA Real Estate Company with a 2014 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award for its continued environmental leadership.  The company's accomplishments will be recognized in Washington, D.C. on April 29, 2014.

USAA Real Estate Company, an ENERGY STAR partner since 2000, saved over $1.8 million in 2013, increasing asset value by more than $25.0 million, driven by reductions in water consumption of 7.64 percent and overall energy consumption of 3.50 percent.  The average ENERGY STAR rating for USAA's portfolio is an 85, up over 77 percent (from a 48) since 2000, and reflects the overall real estate portfolio efficiency gain from the strong partnership with ENERGY STAR.   This recognition marks USAA Real Estate Company's 12^th straight ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year recognition, the most by any real estate company.
