ePharmaSolutions Announces the Results of a Landmark Survey on the Preferences and Needs of the Global Rater Training Industry at the ICAD conference July 8th through the 15th

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- ePharmaSolutions, a leading provider of clinical research services, completed a landmark research survey of over 205 clinical researchers in 18 countries who administer psychometric rating scales to  measure the improvement or worsening of symptoms in psychiatric and neurologic clinical trials.

A few survey highlights include:

82% of raters surveyed prefer to be trained by scale author or someone expert in the field.  85% of raters surveyed agreed that independent monitoring of scale data during study improved accuracy and maintains rater calibration throughout the study. 90% of raters feel interview skills training prior to site activation helps improve the ability to accurately rate subjects. "While some of the results were quite fascinating and provide much better insight into the global needs of site raters, other results were consistent with what we have experienced and anticipated," stated Dr. Theresa Bromley, ePharmaSolutions' Associate Director of Rater Services. "For example, we knew that most raters would rather be certified annually than be required to train for each individual study but we didn't anticipate the overwhelming dissatisfaction with the central video interviewing solutions that seem to have disassociated the rater from the study."
