EPIC Adds Scott Gunnison as Principal, Strategic Development

SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- EPIC (Edgewood Partners Insurance Center), a retail property, casualty and employee benefits insurance brokerage, has added Scott Gunnison as Principal, Strategic Development. Gunnison brings more than 30 years of diversified insurance underwriting, retail and wholesale brokerage, specialty program development, and operations experience to EPIC. He will be based in Chicago and report directly to EPIC president and co-founder, John Hahn.

Gunnison's responsibilities will initially focus on driving the next stage of growth and development for PowerGuard Specialty Insurance Services – a Managing General Agent specializing in the design and underwriting of unique insurance and risk management solutions for alternative energy manufacturers, developers and investors. PowerGuard is a separate operating entity and was conceived and launched by John Hahn in conjunction with PowerGuard's managing principal, Mike McMullen.

Prior to joining EPIC, Gunnison was most recently executive vice president of the Crump Group (formerly BISYS Insurance Services / Tri-City Brokerage), where he managed the firm's Chicago office for more than 20 years, growing revenue nearly fivefold between 1999 and 2008. Gunnison's responsibilities included product and program development, underwriting, financial management, marketing, business development and the management of key strategic relationships.
