The expansion comes as the cruise industry continues to grow. Global ocean cruise passenger volume reached a record 37.2 million in 2025, up 7.5% from 2024, while industry forecasts call for more than 38 million passengers globally in 2026. The expanded group cruise business will serve family and extended family groups, family reunions, friends and social groups, school and alumni reunions, clubs and organizations, yoga and fitness groups, and other groups planning vacations together. Corporate groups will remain an important part of the business.

This is all happening as cruise lines continue to broaden the cruise vacation experience. Cruise lines are investing in new ships while developing private islands, beach clubs and other exclusive destinations designed to give travelers more choices both onboard and ashore.
