On May 8, 2014, Monsanto Company (Monsanto) reported that the votes to determine the national winner of the 2014 Monsanto America's Farmers Mom of the Year contest are in and Heather Dineen, a first-generation dryland farmer has been bestowed with the title. Earlier in April 2014, Monsanto with American Agri-Women (AAW) - the nation's largest coalition of farm, ranch and agribusiness women, had selected Dineen to be one of five regional winners in the contest. The Company said that these women were recognized for their commitment to their families, farms, communities and the agriculture industry, and will each receive a $5,000 cash award. On May 8, 2014, Ashland Specialty Ingredients, a commercial unit of Ashland Inc. (Ashland) launched the HydroSheer™ II formulation technology, a system designed to modify emulsion behavior in such a way that finished lotions appear clear or virtually clear during rubout on wet skin. The Company informed that the new technology takes into account a number of formulation variables required to produce stable creams and lotions that apply clear on wet skin, including the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance or HLB. Ashland informed that by being able to solve long-standing formulation challenge, HydroSheer™ II formulation technology won the first ever Beiersdorf Innovation Pitch award at the in-cosmetics trade show last April 2, 2014 in Hamburg, Germany.
