Events DC Announces New Exclusive Food and Beverage Partnership with Globally-Recognized Aramark at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center

WASHINGTON, Jan. 17, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- As the official convention and sports authority for the District of Columbia, Events DC today announced the selection of Aramark as the new exclusive food and beverage partner at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, following a comprehensive bid process.  The newly approved contract by Events DC's Board of Directors will mark a proposed ten-year agreement with five one-year options, that will begin April 1, 2019. 

With a long-standing history of operating diverse venues across the globe and an already established presence in Washington, DC, Aramark will enter the partnership with a forward-thinking understanding of Events DC as an organization and brand, as well as Events DC clients and their customer base.  Aramark currently provides cleaning services at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center and exclusive food and beverage offerings at the newly opened Entertainment and Sports Arena in Congress Heights, managed by Events DC. Aramark is also the official concessionaire at DC's notable Capital One Arena, operated by Monumental Sports & Entertainment.

Centerplate/NBSE, the Walter E. Washington Convention Center's current exclusive food and beverage provider has committed to providing a seamless transition until their contract ends on March 31, 2019.
