Evergreen Hospital Achieves HealthGrades Outstanding Patient Experience and Maternity Care Excellence Awards

KIRKLAND, Wash., July 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Evergreen Healthcare today announced it has received the 2011 Outstanding Patient Experience Award and the 2011 Maternity Care Excellence Award, accolades recognized by HealthGrades for hospitals performing in the top 10 percent in the nation for overall patient satisfaction and superior maternity care.

In addition to the excellence awards, Evergreen also achieved designation as a 5-Star rated medical center in gynecologic surgery, and is one of two Washington hospitals and the only King County hospital to receive both the Maternity Care Excellence Award and a 5-Star rating in gynecologic surgery.

To be considered for HealthGrades' designations of excellence, Evergreen met minimum thresholds in terms of patient volumes, quality ratings, and the range of clinical services provided within qualified specialties.

For its Outstanding Patient Experience Award, Evergreen received top marks from its patients within 10 quality measures including caregiver communication, responsiveness, pain management, likelihood to recommend and an overall rating of their Evergreen experience.

Along with its outstanding clinical outcomes in maternity care, Evergreen also achieved a 5-Star rating for gynecologic surgery. HealthGrades' report found that women who undergo gynecologic surgery at 5-Star rated hospitals experience 35 percent fewer complications, as well.
