evian® Debuts The First Annual evian Wood Racquet Cup

NEW YORK, Aug. 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Paying tribute to the heritage of evian and the brand's history with the US Open, evian^® (a brand of Danone Waters of America, Inc.) will debut its first annual retro tennis tournament with the evian Wood Racquet Cup taking place on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at The West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills, New York.

In celebration of evian's longstanding partnership with the US Open, the evian Wood Racquet Cup will offer the community a day of lively tennis-themed activities motivating all to live young. evian will also stage a vintage tennis tournament where hand-selected doubles teams of your favorite New Yorkers will battle it out on the famed clay courts at The West Side Tennis Club using vintage wooden tennis racquets, the primary home of the U.S. Championships from 1924 to 1977.

Entertainment throughout the day will include special appearances by a surprise celebrity guest and local tennis pros. The event will also feature table tennis open to the public, live sounds by Hungry March Band, edible treats from Asia Dog and People's Pops, DIY silk screened tote bags, a bar serving specialty cocktails, beer, and champagne for those over the age of 21, and unlimited evian for everyone to stay hydrated! The curated teams will be competing for tickets to the US Open Finals matches in September.  Attendees on-site will also have the opportunity to enter for a chance to win finals tickets. Photos taken on-site and tagged with #evianWRC on Instagram will be printed in real-time as commemorative souvenirs.
