EvidenceCare Marks 10 Years of Physician-Led Care Decisions

The company will mark the milestone at Nashville Health Care Council (NHCC) Sessions in Nashville this September, where CEO Bo Bartholomew will discuss the anniversary and EvidenceCare's approach to AI heading into what's next.

Over the past decade, EvidenceCare's BetterCare Platform has grown to support over 30 health systems and hundreds of hospitals, integrating into Epic, Oracle Cerner, and Meditech, informing millions of decisions. Over the past two years, its solutions have generated more than $100 million annually in revenue capture and cost savings for clients.

EvidenceCare traces its origin to a moment co-founder Dr. Brian Fengler experienced while working overnight at an emergency room in Nashville. Despite having authored the evidence-based treatment protocol on the management of patients with pulmonary embolism in the emergency department, he was at a loss when a patient who was 36 weeks pregnant arrived with a massive pulmonary embolism. He knew what she needed but not how it would affect her unborn baby, with no fast way to find out. The treatment worked and the patient's baby was unharmed, but the gap it exposed, and closing it without removing physician judgment, are the threads running through everything EvidenceCare has built since.

The company began with clinical pathways built with medical societies in emergency medicine, urgent care, orthopedics, gastroenterology, and oncology, and has since grown into the BetterCare Platform:
