BARCELONA, Spain and CAMPBELL, Calif., Feb. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Mobile World Congress 2013 -- Exalt Communications, the leading innovator of next-generation packet microwave backhaul systems, today announced the diversification and expansion of its ExtendAir® and ExploreAir® platforms with the addition of three new products that address a wide range of high-capacity packet backhaul requirements, from enterprise connectivity to fiber-speed backhaul for LTE and small cell networks. All systems benefit from unique technology developed by Exalt to increase network throughput, range, availability, and reliability without fiber's deployment time and expense, thereby substantially reducing CAPEX and OPEX costs.

ExtendAir eMIMO is Exalt's first non-line-of-sight (NLOS) wireless bridge, expanding the performance, reliability, and advanced feature-set of entry-level point-to-point wireless bridges at the lowest cost. Delivering up to 250 Mbps of throughput in unlicensed or lightly-licensed frequency bands, ExtendAir eMIMO combines high performance and wide geographic range with data networking, security, and other features typically not available at its price level. ExploreAir LR is a point-to-point licensed system enabling network operators to use antennas half the size – and less equipment overall – to send long-haul traffic further and with the highest availability, dramatically reducing CAPEX and OPEX costs.  When connected to NodeX, Exalt's new RF combiner box, multiple ExploreAir LR radios can be used to deliver an industry-leading 6 Gbps of aggregate throughput – previously available only via fiber – making the system ideal for high-capacity backhaul links to towers in areas where fiber is not available or where it is too expensive to lease or install.
