EXTOL International Reaffirms Commitment to Serving IBM Power Systems Users
Recent Primeur partnership, upcoming EEI 6.4 release extend customer integration capabilities through legacy platform, applications
POTTSVILLE, Pa., April 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- EXTOL International, a leading provider of e-business integration software and services, will discuss its plans for continued support of the IBM i Series platform during the IBM COMMON Users Conference, being held April 7-10 in Austin, Texas. The meeting, billed as the "largest gathering of the Power Systems users community," brings together hundreds of IBM users and IT professionals to discuss new ways to reduce costs and improve productivity.
Since its origins, EXTOL has developed and maintained integration tools for IBM i (and earlier i Series, OS/400) servers. Its core EDI Integrator for i (EEI) software application helps more than 500 customers integrate external partner applications with internal programs and data, while accelerating processing speeds for business-critical transaction information and enabling legacy applications to remain viable as new partners join business networks.
EXTOL's history with the i Series dates back to its original EDI Integrator software, which was built using an AS/400 that was purchased the first day IBM released the platform back in 1988. Version 6.4 of EEI, which provides users with rapid integration capabilities through a highly-reliable platform, is expected to be released later this fall.
"Despite the occasional perception that the i Series – in its various iterations – is no longer relevant, we've found it to be a strong, well-supported and often mission-critical component for successful integration," said Tony Baran, president and CEO of EXTOL. "IBM i remains a reliable platform capable of supporting both new and legacy applications, and our strong business partnership with IBM will help EXTOL remain the standard for B2B integration services as it has during the past two decades."
EXTOL further extended its dedication to i Series-friendly integration tools through its recent partnership with European secure file transfer provider, Primeur, whose compatible Spazio MFT and Governance tools will enable EXTOL Integrator suite users to manage multiple file protocols across various IT platforms.
"Our years of experience and commitment to the IBM platform is what makes EXTOL a leading integration solutions provider to hundreds of businesses in multiple industries" said Tammy Moyer, product manager at EXTOL. "We are excited about the next release of our EEI solution, and look forward to meeting our customers' needs through more advanced and user-friendly features and partnered technologies."
