PELLA, Iowa, Dec. 22, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- The Sun., Jan. 2, episode of ABC television network's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" (EMHE) will include energy-efficient Pella windows and doors donated by Pella Windows & Doors. The episode will air at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central on ABC-TV.
The makeover in Moorhead, Minn., in the greater Fargo, N.D. area marks the 26th appearance of Pella products to help complete the new home construction for a deserving family featured in the series. The new Prairie style home features energy-efficient Pella® Architect Series® windows and patio doors with a Honeysuckle-colored EnduraClad® protective exterior finish, made in Sioux Center, Pella and Shenandoah, Iowa. In addition, a prefinished Craftsman-style Pella fiberglass entry door system made in Fairfield, Ohio will grace the entryway.
In this episode, the family's existing home was moved to a new location to provide a home for another family. Pella donated ENERGY STAR® -qualified almond-colored Encompass by Pella® vinyl windows to update that home.
The Pella manufacturing team in Murray, Ky., crafted the vinyl windows. Pella team members from Fargo and Minneapolis areas assisted with installation, together with local contractors who volunteered their time to support the project.
"For the eighth consecutive year, Pella was pleased to again partner with 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' to create better views for these two deserving families," said Kathy Krafka Harkema, Pella Corporation spokesperson. "Pella welcomed the opportunity to again work with Heritage Homes in creating the beautiful homes that will help make life easier for each of these families." Pella previously donated windows and doors installed in the EMHE home in Minot, N.D. Heritage Homes built in 2006 for the Bliven family.
Each episode features a race against time on a project that would normally take at least four months to achieve, involving designers, contractors and several hundred workers who have just seven days to build an entire house plus the exterior and landscaping. Viewers see the transformation of the home and the reactions and emotions of the deserving homeowners.
Pella products were included on 25 previous episodes of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," providing new or renovated homes for deserving families in Maple Heights, Ohio; Woodlawn, Tenn.; Suffield, Ct.; Albert Lea, Minn.; Geneva, N.Y.; Fairmont, W. Va.; the California cities of Los Angeles, Martinez and Penngrove; and the New Jersey cities of Bergenfield and Irvington.
