ExtremeTix Client Alameda County Fair Sees Record Year

PLEASANTON, Calif., July 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- ExtremeTix, a leader in ticketing technology and entertainment services, today announced record-breaking attendance at one of their premier clients' events: The Alameda County Fair.

Exactly 534,577 fairgoers "Made Memories Here" at this year's historical centennial celebration. Continuing a record pace, this number represents an approximate 18% increase over 2011, and is the largest recorded attendance in Fair history according to Alameda County officials. The previous attendance record was set in 2011 with 452,747 people in attendance. The Alameda County Fair is ranked as the 39th largest fair in the nation and the largest event in the East Bay Area.

ExtremeTix provided an integrated suite of online, box office and phone tickets along with custom stock for this year's Fair in addition to promoting the Fair across social media platforms as part of the purchase process. Fair ticket buyers turned into the Fair's best ticket sellers!

Alameda County Fair officials are extremely pleased with their dramatic attendance increase in 2012. Special promotions that helped drive attendance included $1.00 opening day admission as well as $1.00 carnival rides and $2 Tuesdays. The Fair's Feed the Need Food Drive resulted in over 39,189 lbs of donated food for the Alameda County Community Food Bank.

Concert performances played a big part in the success of this year's Fair and fans enjoyed acts including: Rick Springfield, 38 Special, Salt N Pepa, The Temptations, Morris Day and the Time, Kellie Pickler, Lonestar, Tower of Power and others.
