Fairway Independent Mortgage Corp of Delaware Hosts 1st Annual Pups Patrol for Heroes Walk at the Wilmington Riverfront
On October 14, 2017 at 1:00pm at Frawley Stadium on the Wilmington Riverfront, the event will raise money to help place service dogs with military veterans suffering from PTSD or other disabilities.
WILMINGTON, Del., Oct. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation of Delaware ("FMIC-DE") has long been a supporter of active and inactive military veterans through Fairway's national outreach campaign American Warriors Initiative. In 2015, FMIC-DE launched their regional Service Dog Initiative to help local veterans battling PTSD and other conditions, as well as military families who could benefit from the support a service dog provides. Since 2015, they have placed many dogs with military families.
Kimberly Grim, Senior Vice President of FMIC-DE states, "This is a community driven initiative. We are honored to support our military veterans, and we recognize how much these heroes benefit from the companionship a service dog provides and the notable improvement of their quality of life."
The walk will open with a live rendition of the National Anthem and presentation of the American Flag. After the walk is over around 1:45pm, three families will relay their stories about what a service dog has either meant, or will mean to them. The presentation segment of the event will be completed by 3:00PM.
