Familia Camarena Tequila Launches #SAVECINCO Campaign

HAYWARD, Calif., April 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- In response to Cinco de Mayo falling on a Monday this year, Familia Camarena Tequila is launching a program dubbed #SAVECINCO that urges Cinco de Mayo fans to save the holiday from the work week by celebrating it on Saturday, May 3.

On April 1, Familia Camarena Tequila kicked off the #SAVECINCO campaign with a variety of fun visual pranks on social media, changing common, everyday images featuring the number five to the number three as a subtle reminder to celebrate on the third of May.

To show support for the holiday, Familia Camarena is urging fans to sign a pledge on SAVECINCO.com and encourage friends to celebrate Cinco de Mayo on the Saturday beforehand.  Those who pledge will be sent tips and tricks for a fun, memorable Cinco de Mayo as well as invited to participate in events and contests leading up to May 3.

On Friday, May 2, Familia Camarena Tequila will host three #SAVECINCO 'rallies' in Chicago, Miami, and Los Angeles to drum up local excitement for the holiday and inspire attendees to save Cinco de Mayo on Saturday, May 3.  Invited attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the Familia Camarena brand, Cinco de Mayo and a lesson or two in mixology while enjoying delicious food, beverages and music.
