Family Entertainment Centers Raise Money for Military Children of the Fallen to go to College
Putt for the Fallen Nationwide Charity Fundraiser
JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla., Sept. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Fifty three family entertainment centers (FECs) across the country have partnered together for the 2nd Annual ForeverLawn's Putt For the Fallen month-long fundraising event to assist Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation (Fallen Patriots) in their goal to help children of fallen soldiers reach their dreams of a college education.
Throughout September, guests of participating FECs have the opportunity to donate $1, $3 or $5 in exchange for a paper golf ball. Donors receive recognition by writing their names on the ball and will receive a free round of mini-golf with the purchase of a round on their next visit.
"It's wonderful to see an industry join forces to help our cause," explains Eric Heinemen, Director of Strategic Partnerships for Fallen Patriots. "Not only does the fundraising benefit our organization, but the community outreach is immense. Thousands of families are exposed to our mission here at Fallen Patriots through Putt For the Fallen, and that type of exposure is priceless. Putt For The Fallen helps families find out about us and how we can help military families that have lost a parent in the line of duty."
The national event raised over $30,000 last year, and FEC participants in Texas, Florida, Utah, California and Kansas have already requested more fundraising materials. "As expected, the Putt for the Fallen Fundraiser is going great, and many guests have donated towards this great cause so far!" explains Jessica Frick, Sales Manager at Boomer's Fun Parks in Livermore, CA. "We have been receiving a great amount of guests wanting to donate!"
This year's event attracted corporate sponsors, which helped offset the costs of the promotional fundraising kits. Ensuring the dreams of those left behind, 100% of the donations will go directly to scholarships and long-term educational counseling for the children of fallen heroes.
