Family Federation for World Peace and Unification Leads Hundreds in Las Vegas Prayer Vigil for the Mother of Peace Ahead of South Korea Verdict

LAS VEGAS, Aug. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Hundreds of people gathered Sunday outside the International Peace Education Center in Las Vegas for a prayer vigil in support of Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, known worldwide as the Mother of Peace, as she awaits a verdict in a closely watched criminal case in South Korea.

Participants stood together in prayer around the iconic globe outside of the center, with some holding photographs of Dr. Han and her late husband, Rev. Sun Myung Moon, who together founded a global religious movement dedicated to strengthening families and advancing peace.

The Las Vegas gathering was part of a broader show of prayer and solidarity for Dr. Han by supporters around the world.

Dr. Han faces the possibility of imprisonment in South Korea. Her case comes amid heightened scrutiny of religious organizations and conservative religious groups in the country, leading supporters and religious freedom advocates to characterize the proceedings against her as part of a politically motivated crackdown by the current South Korean administration. South Korean authorities have pursued the case as a criminal prosecution.
