Fantesca Estate & Winery Donates $18,000 to the Louisiana Flood Relief Fund
ST. HELENA, Calif., June 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Fantesca Estate & Winery donated $18,000 to the Baton Rouge Area Foundation's Louisiana Flood Relief Fund. The donation was raised through a silent auction at a dinner for Fantesca's collectors hosted at Galatoire's. Three top bidders secured a hand painted 6 liter bottle of Fantesca's 2014 All Great Things "Hope," a Napa Valley red wine blend crafted by winemaker, Heidi P. Barrett.
Fantesca's proprietors, Duane & Susan Hoff, reigned as King & Queen of the Krewe of Mid-City this 2017 Carnival season. As longtime members of the Krewe, it was important for the Hoffs to use their reign to give back to a state they have loved for over fifteen years. As they watched the historic flooding take hold in 2016, they recognized a need to support long term relief efforts and discovered the work being done by the Baton Rouge Area Foundation.
The Baton Rouge Area Foundation is among the largest community foundations in the country. The Foundation has granted more than $150 million in disaster relief after hurricanes, floods and the BP oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico.
The Foundation established the Louisiana Flood Relief Fund in early 2016 to help people affected by the spring flooding in Louisiana. Since then, people and companies have contributed more than $7 million to the fund, and the Foundation has granted almost the entire amount to nonprofits providing relief and recovery services, including assistance to poor and elderly homeowners and help for local schools.
Fantesca is proud to support the efforts of the Foundation with this donation to their Louisiana Flood Relief Fund.
