As Part of Continued Eastern Expansion, New Facility to Provide Recruitment, Support and Training for New Agency Owners

DANBURY, Conn., Sept. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Farmers Insurance^SM, one of the nation's leading multiline insurers, hosted a special Grand Opening reception and Ribbon-Cutting ceremony from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. today to inaugurate the establishment of its new Territory Office in Danbury, Connecticut.

"The Danbury, Connecticut Territory Office is here to support the growth and development of our agents," said David Lamorte, State Director of New York and Connecticut for Farmers Insurance. Joining Farmers representatives for the special Grand Opening event were: Senator Michael McLachlan of the 24^th district; Mayor of Danbury, Mark Boughton; Representative Janice Giegler of the 138^th district; Insurance Director for the Connecticut Insurance Department, George Bradner.

The new facility will house approximately 25 full-time employees who will oversee the recruitment and training of prospective new Agency Owners.

Beginning in 2011, Farmers began a concerted effort to expand its presence along the eastern seaboard. The national insurer opened new offices in Pennsylvania in the first part of that year, followed by New Jersey later in the year. In 2012, it opened operations in Georgia and Maryland. The national insurer first entered the New York marketplace with its combination of highly-trained exclusive agents and broad array of insurance and financial products in 2013 and continued to grow with the opening of its Rochester, New York Territory Office in 2014.
