StylePointe is a platform for emerging fashion designers to showcase their fashions in collaboration with dance choreographers during New York Fashion Week. Producer Sangeeta Yesley invited fashion designers with complete collections to submit work samples. Five wonderful collections were selected from designers with diverse backgrounds. The designers' work was introduced to five choreographers who represent varied dance styles, who have created different dance vignettes to showcase the fashion collections.
"The designers have the opportunity to showcase their collections and work with choreographers who are inspired by their creations to choreograph dance vignettes to present at StylePointe," says Sangeeta Yesley, StylePointe Producer and Founder and Director at Creative Performances, NYC.
StylePointe 2017 features collections by: Adrian Escoto; Kaitlin Germain; VAVA Clothing; Angelia Lin; and Bella LaVie Collection; with choreography by: DoubleTake Dance; Azul Dance Theatre; Megan Doyle Dance; Armada Dance; and Dance Key West.
This year's event product sponsors include: Shaklee; Skinnocence; Bakery on Main; StandUp NY; ChloeAlyson Jewelry; FOUR Organics; and Shea by Nai.
StylePointe celebrates a collaboration of Fashion and Dance by enabling emerging fashion designers to showcase their fashions in collaboration with dance choreographers during New York Fashion Week. StylePointe is co-produced by Sangeeta Yesley, Founder and Director at Creative Performances, NYC and is hosted at Dixon Place Theater, an artistic incubator since 1986, a Bessie and Obie Award-winning non-profit institution committed to supporting the creative process by presenting original works.
