FBI Selects Pega to Streamline Operations Across Bureau

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Nov. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Pegasystems Inc. (NASDAQ: PEGA), the software company empowering digital transformation at the world's leading enterprises, today announced it has been awarded a subscription contract by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Business Process Management Unit (BPMU). The FBI will deploy a number of Pega-based applications, including human resources, finance, and security applications that improve workflow and automate processes to improve efficiency and meet both immediate and future organizational needs.

Part of the U.S. Department of Justice, the FBI is staffed by 51,000 employees and contractors that work around the clock and across the globe to protect the US from terrorism, espionage, and cyberattacks, and to enforce the country's criminal laws. As part of a broader digital transformation strategy, the BPMU replaced an older legacy system with technology solutions from Pega – including Pega Government Platform™ and Pega Robotic Process Automation™ – that would streamline the FBI's enterprise business processes for the benefit of employees and the organization.

Pega Government Platform offers government clients a scalable, flexible, and agile application development environment, enabling them to quickly create new applications that will support their missions and provide the end-to-end experiences users demand. As part of a larger transformation effort, Pega Robotic Process Automation (RPA) enables the automation of repetitive, manual tasks to free up employees to focus on mission-critical tasks. Pega also provides industry-standard connectors and web services, as well as offline mobile support for field workers.

Quotes & Commentary:

"Many government agencies are currently tackling today's challenges with yesterday's technology; however, most legacy technology fails to meet the requirements government employees need to do their jobs efficiently," said Doug Averill, industry market lead, government, Pegasystems. "By overhauling their enterprise business processes with Pega, the FBI can improve the experience for employees so they can spend more time on critical missions that help keep US citizens safe."
