FCP Euro Wins Debut Race of 2017 with American Endurance Racing at Road Atlanta
BRASELTON, Ga., Feb. 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- On February 10, FCP Euro debuted its newly-built Mercedes-Benz C300 at the first round of the 2017 American Endurance Racing season at Road Atlanta. FCP Euro finished first in Class 3 during both Saturday and Sunday races and took home first overall in Class 3 for the weekend. "This is all very surreal," said Michael Hurczyn, FCP Euro Brand Director and Driver for the #720 C300. "We built this car in about two months, and before the Thursday test day, the car never turned a lap on a track. The goal was to finish one of the 9-hour races, and to win both days is just incredible. It's a testament to the hard work and quality everyone at FCP Euro puts into every endeavor."
The weekend wasn't without its struggles, however; from the turbo blowing on the tow vehicle on the way to Road Atlanta, to two major snowstorms hammering the northeast causing travel disruptions, the FCP Euro team was still able to persevere. "Sometimes when people see a car perform well in a race, they may not think of the amount of effort it takes just to get the car on track," commented Nate Vincent, Director of Motorsport at FCP Euro and Driver for the #720 C300.
