The exhibition and special achievement awards ceremony will showcase the artistic talents and personal victories of individuals served at FEGS who are diagnosed with intellectual-developmental disabilities. Through the visual arts, the participants have made significant strides toward greater independence and self-expression. Recognizing the healing power and self-discovery that access to the arts can provide, FEGS provides individuals who face life challenges with opportunities to participate in an array of workshops, performances, exhibits, and therapeutic programs that provide opportunities for creative expression and personal exploration through the arts.
FEGS Chief Executive Officer Gail A. Magaliff said, "The arts provide the opportunity to gain self-esteem, learn to cope more effectively with the world, and develop a greater sense of independence and dignity. I'm proud to be here today to showcase the talent and beautiful work of these individuals. I am sure their families and all those in attendance will be as impressed and inspired as I am!"
FEGS provides a range of services to individuals with developmental and other disabilities that allow them to participate and live as independently as possible in the community. Programs include service coordination, family support, day habilitation, clinical services, supported employment, transportation, and housing.
