Ferrovial announces commercial close of I-24 Southeast Choice Lanes in Tennessee

• The project brings essential infrastructure to a fast-growing region in the U.S.¹, aimed to support economic growth and mobility

AMSTERDAM, Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Ferrovial, a leading global infrastructure company, announces that commercial close has been reached with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) for the I-24 Southeast Choice Lanes in Nashville. This milestone establishes the contractual framework for one of Tennessee's most transformative transportation initiatives, marking the state's largest single capital investment and first public-private partnership in its history.

Under the agreement, the Ferrovial-led DriveTN consortium will finance, design, build, operate and maintain the lanes under a 50-year concession that will begin once open to traffic. In August 2026, TDOT selected the DriveTN consortium, of which Transurban and Tikehau Star Infra are also part, to deliver the project. 

The I-24 Southeast Choice Lanes project will add new lanes in both directions along a 26-mile stretch of I-24 between Nashville and Murfreesboro. The choice lanes are designed to provide more reliable travel times, even during peak periods, while helping improve traffic flow in the general-purpose lanes.

Beyond improving mobility, the project is expected to drive economic growth, create jobs and opportunities for local businesses, strengthen local communities, and deliver lasting value that supports the region's continued success.
